Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026.

Where in History is a free daily history game. This policy explains what data the game does — and does not — handle.

No accounts, no personal data

You do not need an account to play, and the game does not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information. We do not collect, store, or share personal data about players.

Scores and streaks stay in your browser

Your daily results, streak, and unit preference (miles or kilometres) are stored only in your own browser's local storage, on your own device. Clearing your browser data removes them. They are never sent to a server or tied to an identity.

Privacy-first analytics

To understand overall traffic, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics tool that does not track individual visitors across sites and does not use your data for advertising. No advertising trackers, third-party cookies, or fingerprinting scripts are used.

Game assets

All game assets (globe imagery and map data) are hosted on this site itself. The game makes no calls to external map or advertising services while you play.

Children

The game contains no chat, no user-generated content, and no data collection, and is suitable for general audiences.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
